- Claim
- Architected PilotCPA (formerly PacketOS), a desktop tax-workpaper automation app for SMB owners and bookkeepers, around a safety-first architecture: an LLM proposes, code computes, a human can approve, and an append-only, hash-chained audit log records every action — with a hard, test-enforced invariant that the system never files, signs, submits, transmits, or pays anything.
- Why it mattered
- Built a desktop app that gathers a small business owner's own tax documents and drafts a full CPA-style tax packet for them — but the AI is never allowed to just act on its own. Every AI suggestion has to pass through real code checks and a human approval step, and there is a tamper-evident record of everything it did. The app can never file, sign, submit, or pay anything by itself; it only ever hands the user a labeled DRAFT.
- Your role
- Founder & Principal Systems Architect — designed and built the safety architecture (propose/compute/approve/audit-chain), the document-extraction and PDF form-filling pipeline, and the DRAFT workpaper generation.
- Evidence
- UNVERIFIED [PKT-001-EV1] REPO: Private repository (not yet public) — the 'CPA Automation' repo, brand PilotCPA (formerly PacketOS). Verified by direct inspection: git log (5 commits, aee18cb through 38b81fb), IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md (69/69 currently-scoped tasks checked off), CLAUDE.md's documented safety invariants, and the enforcing test suite (e.g. schema/no-filing-states.test.ts).
